My primary focus is based on Japanese rope structures.
The use of rope in Japan has a rich and varied history. Rope utilized for more erotic activities has evolved in modern times, utilizing dynamic forms and ties. The terms shibari (to tie) or kinbaku (tight binding) are interchangeable, although kinbaku is used more often to denote rope used for sexual or erotic purposes.
